Rate limiting for Platform API clients
Starting October 14 2026, the Jamf Platform API limits each API client to 100 requests per second. The limit is tracked by client ID and doesn't apply to Jamf user interfaces.
This limit isn't meant to block legitimate use. It guards against abusive and runaway traffic and is set well above the busiest integrations today, so we don't expect it to affect existing workflows.
Over the coming months, we'll test lower limits based on real usage. We'll announce any change here before it takes effect.
Every response includes headers that show where you are against the limit:
x-ratelimit-limit: requests allowed per secondx-ratelimit-remaining: requests left in the current windowx-ratelimit-reset: Unix timestamp when the window resets
If you go over the limit, the API returns HTTP 429. Wait until the x-ratelimit-reset time before you retry.
